Even children can understand the need to protect the head in battle. The head controls all other parts of the body. As our helmet, salvation secures our hope and confidence of victory. The soldier with no hope is defeated before the battle begins. Our great salvation, based in the work of Christ on the cross, is the helmet we wear to protect our hope, our confidence, and the spirit of victory we need to fight for the Lord.
