Bible Story: Honor Your Parents

Bible Text: Ephesians 6:2-3

Suggested Learning Outcome: This coupon book craft will help remind children that there are many ways they can honor their mother to bring her joy on Mothers’ Day.

Supplies List:

• Construction paper
• Ribbon
• Crayons
• Scissors
• Cardstock

Teacher Preparation: Pre-cut rectangles of construction paper and cardstock. Each student will need two rectangles of cardstock and several rectangles of construction paper.

Instructions:

Step 1. Give each child two rectangles of cardstock and instruct them to decorate the two pieces for Mothers’ Day and write or copy the words, “I Will Honor You Mom.”.

 

 

 

Step 2. Give the children several rectangles (same size) of construction paper and instruct them to draw pictures or write down on each piece of paper a way the child can honor their mother. Some examples are: doing chores quickly, obeying, praying for mom.

 

 

 

Step 3. Using a hole punch and ribbon help each children bind his or her book together as a gift for mom.
