God's People Wandered in the Wilderness

According to Deuteronomy 8:2-6, when it was time for the Israelites to conquer the Promised Land, the people doubted God and refused to go in as He has commanded. As a result, God caused them to wander in the wilderness for 40 years until that faithless generation died off. A new generation of people who had learned to trust God in the wilderness would be the ones to reap the rewards of obedience and faith.
