Lesson Description

Elisha was a student of and successor to the prophet Elijah. As he traveled around the country, God would use his preaching and ministry to encourage the people to be faithful to Yahweh and His laws. In the town of Shunem, Elisha met a couple who provided him with meals and a room to stay whenever Elisha passed through the town. God was pleased with their hospitality and even blessed the couple with a child. This kind couple became part of God’s written story simply because of their generous hospitality. This kind of loving generosity can characterize all of us, including young children. A Room for Elisha Bible lesson for older preschoolers studies this story and teaches that God wants me to help others in need.
