Lesson Description
This lesson is about the ministry of John the Baptist, a ministry that took place around AD 26-29. John appeared to his fellow Jews as a prophet from the Old Testament. He admonished as Isaiah had done and dressed as Elijah. John preached repentance and the good news that God’s Son was coming. The crowds gathered around him. Many believed his words and repented of their sins.
In John’s day, when a king traveled, he would send workers to smooth the road ahead and announce his coming. John had the extraordinary privilege of announcing the glad fulfillment of ancient Scripture: The King of kings had arrived in Jesus!
