Lesson Description
Centuries before Jesus was born, Old Testament prophets foretold His coming. “A child would be born,” Isaiah declared. A son would be given, “and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace” (Isa. 9:6). Even the town of His birth was foretold by the prophet Micah: “Bethlehem Ephrathah, you are small among the clans of Judah; One will come from you to be ruler over Israel for Me. His origin is from antiquity, from eternity” (Micah 5:2).
Scholars are still mining the depths of these two prophecies, as as well as hundreds more. Even so, even preschoolers can understand the these prophecies and their fulfillment in Jesus Christ make Jesus very special indeed! He was and is God! The Prophets’ Story Bible lesson for older preschoolers affirms this truth and that God promised to send His Son long before Jesus came.
