Lesson Description

Zacchaeus was the chief tax collector in Jericho. He had taken advantage of his position and become very wealthy through dishonest means. Perhaps at this point in his life he realized money really couldn’t satisfy. He heard Jesus was coming to town and decided to try to at least get a glimpse of Him. Being a short man, he climbed up a tree—and when Jesus came to it He looked up and told Zacchaeus He wanted to be a guest in his home. After the visit, Zacchaeus was a changed man. He stated he would give half of his possessions to the poor, and he’d pay back anyone he’d wronged four times the amount he took unfairly. He didn’t do this to earn salvation, but because he had been saved. Indeed, Jesus stated that salvation had come to that home that very day. This Zacchaeus Met Jesus Bible lesson for older preschoolers will help kids understand better the difference Jesus can make in people’s lives and that Jesus loves even me!
