Bible Story: Jesus Crucifixion

Bible Text: John 19:6-18

Suggested Learning Outcome: This painting craft allows children to participate in a fun, hands-on learning activity to reinforce the importance of the cross.

Supplies List:

• Small art canvas-1per child
• Masking tape
• Paint
• Paintbrush, cotton balls, or cotton swabs

Instructions:

Step 1. Use masking tape to create a cross shape on each canvass before class. See image.

Step 2. Make paint available to students in small amounts on a paper plate or in small paint cups. Instruct children to paint in each square. Using different colors will create an interesting contrasting effect.

Step 3: Carefully remove masking tape to reveal the white cross underneath.
