The Fall of Israel

The fall of Samaria (the capital of the northern kingdom of Israel) to Assyria occurred in 722 BC, although the deportation of Israelites had begun some 20 years earlier. Judah, the southern kingdom, would continue until being conquered by Babylon more than 100 years later.
