We know that God made all things, but sometimes we forget that His creative work took place over several days and involved several aspects of creation. It’s also easy to overlook the value of plants in God’s overall creation. We can take these things for granted, but they are an important aspect of creation for at least two reasons. First, the plant world provides many things that humans need for survival. In addition to food, plants help maintain the earth’s ecosystem which ultimately sustains human life. But, second, the plant world is a constant reminder that God is a God of beauty and creativity. The abundant life found in the trees, flowers, fruits and vegetables points to the abundance He has provided and intends for us to experience and enjoy in life.
