Jesus Is The Same Autumn Craft

The Bible clearly teaches that Jesus is God. He is Immanuel; God with us! (Matt. 1:23) As God, Jesus is eternal, sovereign, and unchanging. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. What an exciting truth for children to learn!

Bible Story: Jesus: The Same Yesterday, Today, and Forever

Bible Text: Hebrews 13:8

Suggested Learning Outcome: This Jesus Is The Same Autumn Craft will remind children that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Supplies List:

• White paper sheets cut approximately 4 ¼” x 5 ½“
• Autumn colored construction paper
• Brown construction paper cut into varying-sized strips – enough for 4-5 per child (see images)
• Glue sticks
• Mini autumn leaves, autumn confetti, or autumn stickers (see images)

Instructions:

Step 1. Before class, gather the above supplies and write or type the following on a piece of paper to create a white Scripture page for each child: Seasons Change But Jesus! The Same Yesterday Today And Forever Heb 13:8. See image.

 

 

 

 

Step 2. Give each child a white Scripture paper and one sheet of autumn-colored construction paper. Instruct children to glue the Scripture paper to the right-of-center of the colored paper. See image.

 

 

 

 

Step 3. Give four to five of the brown strips of paper to each child. Instruct children to glue these onto the paper in the larger empty space to the left of the Scripture paper. Explain that these will be the tree trunk and limbs of their autumn tree. See image.

 

 

 

 

Step 4. Pass out mini autumn leaves/confetti or stickers to children. Instruct them to place leaves on the limbs of the trees and to use the other pieces or stickers to create an autumn scene on the ground. See image.

 

 

 

 

Step 5. Remind children that life is full of changes. The seasons are a good example of this, but Jesus never changes. He is always gracious, loving, and powerful!
