Unit Overview

Certainly one of the most important things we could help a child understand is that Jesus loves him or her unconditionally. Many of the children you teach are facing difficult family circumstances that may cause them to wonder if they are loved at all. However, all children, regardless of their home situations, need to hear that Jesus loves them; and then they need to see that love demonstrated through your life and through your teaching. Some of your children may feel they are unlovable. Some need to hear the value of loving our friends. Some need to feel the physical touch of Jesus through your hands. All of them need to see what it means to serve others with love. The lessons in this unit will give your children a good picture of Jesus’ love for all people. This unit includes the following lessons.

Kingdom Perspective

Jesus is the promised Messiah and King of the Old Testament who inaugurated the Kingdom of God when He came and gave His life on the cross to atone for sin. Jesus’ sacrificial love revealed the way of God’s Kingdom and God’s great love for all people. God now desires for His followers to share His love and serve others with humility just as Jesus did.
