John Told About the Future Unit Overview Page

Every lesson in God’s Unfolding Story for Older Preschoolers fits into a unit that contains either four or five free lessons. A listing of all of the units can be found on the site along with access to all of the lessons. This page is the John Told About the Future Unit Overview Page (NT12). This will give you a simple overview of the unit as well as a Kingdom Perspective statement to help you place the unit in its Kingdom context. Unit Overview

God’s unfolding story is moving toward a climax, the moment in time and history when Jesus will return to the earth and judge the world. Believers will be tested, but not to determine where they will spend eternity; they will be with Jesus! Confident about the future, Christians joyfully can promote Christ’s cause and engage in His Kingdom work. Preschoolers cannot fully understand all these truths; but they can learn about and appreciate the fact that Jesus will take care of them in the future.

Kingdom Perspective

In Philippians 3:19-20, the apostle Paul told the Philippian believers that even though the ungodly “are focused on earthly things,… our citizenship is in heaven.” He went on to speak of eagerly awaiting Christ’s return. The kingdom perspective to which Paul pointed offers believers unparalleled hope. Mindful that we are citizens of an eternal kingdom, we are empowered to encourage others and to challenge them to join us in living for Christ.
