Unit Overview

In Genesis 45:7-8, Joseph told his brothers that it was not they who had sent him to Egypt, but God, to deliver them from a devastating famine. Just as God delivered His people through Joseph by bringing them to Egypt, He used Moses years later to deliver them from Egypt. God had chosen the Hebrews centuries before as His own special people, desiring to place them on display before the world so that He could show both the Hebrews and the world at large that He is the only true God. The lessons in this unit tell the story of God’s using Moses to lead His people out of Egyptian bondage. In it, we see God orchestrating both world events and the details in individuals’ lives. Even older preschoolers can freely choose to love God and praise Him for His work.

Kingdom Perspective

Through Moses and the exodus from Egypt, God wanted to display His power and His purposes on the world stage. He used His people and what was happening to them to point the world to His eternal Kingdom, one over which His Son, the ultimate Passover Lamb, would rule as King.
