Bible Story: God Makes Changes

Bible Text: Ecclesiastes 3

Suggested Learning Outcome: This craft will help children understand the different changes that God created during the autumn/Thanksgiving season and why these changes are important. Even changes in the weather are a special gift from God which helps make earth a perfect place for us to live. We should be thankful for God’s wonderful design. We must change things in our lives, too. For example, we typically wear warm sweaters or coats in autumn and winter.

Supplies List:

• Felt
• Permanent marker
• Yarn
• Fall colored construction paper

Teacher Preparation: Pre- cut small sweater shaped felt pieces three per student.

Instructions:

Step 1. Give children three felt sweaters and guide them in writing the words, “God Makes Changes” on the sweaters with one word on each sweater (see image).

 

 

 

 

Step 2. Give children a piece of construction paper and instruct them to draw two lines on either side and then give children a length of yarn to glue between the two lines to create a clothesline (see image).

 

 

 

 

Step 3. Guide children in gluing their felt sweaters to the clothesline and adding other drawings to the page to create an autumn/thanksgiving scene (see image).
