The People Honored Jesus Bible Craft
When Jesus entered into Jerusalem on the Sunday prior to His crucifixion, He was greeted by the people honoring Him with palm branches and shouts of praise. Jesus was the long-awaited Messiah who was, and still is, worthy of this praise. This super simple Palm Sunday Bible Craft, based on the story of Jesus’ Triumphal Entry found in Matthew 21:1-11, 14-16, will help children remember the special way the people honored Jesus with palm fronds and that Jesus is worthy of our praise and worship.

Bible Story: The People Honored Jesus (AKA Palm Sunday, Jesus’ Triumphal Entry)
Bible Text: Matt. 21:1-11, 14-16
Supplies List:
- Green pipe cleaners
- Green construction paper
- Tape
- Crayons
Instructions:
Step 1. Give each child a sheet of green construction paper and instruct them to fold it in half and to draw a half circle along the fold line.
Step 2. Children can now take their paper and, keeping it folded, begin to cut skinny “V” shapes into the edge up and down the paper. This will create the shape of the palm frond when unfolded.
Step 3. Instruct kids to unfold the paper and, if you’d like, the word “Hosanna” can be written on the center. The palm frond can now be taped to a green pipe cleaner, by taping it along the center fold line.
Step 4. Once secured, children can wave their palm fronds as a group.
