The People Honored Jesus Maze
Palm Sunday is the Sunday we celebrate Jesus’ “Triumphal Entry” into Jerusalem. As He rode into the city on the Sunday before His crucifixion on Friday, the people shouted, “Hosanna! He who comes in the name of the Lord is the blessed One — the King of Israel” (John 12:13b). “Hosanna” had come to mean, “God is saving!” This beautiful shout of praise meant that Jesus is the Messiah, the King, the Salvation they had been waiting on! But Jesus wasn’t coming as the kind of king they were expecting. He was not coming to overthrow the Roman occupation and oppression. He was not a military leader. Jesus came to break the power of evil over all of humanity through His sacrificial death on the cross a few days later. The People Honored Jesus Maze that you can find here will help kids understand that Jesus is the King, but He’s not like other kings in the world.
