Abraham Trusted God

Someone once said, “God said it. I believe it. That settles it,” but that isn’t quite right. Here’s the truth: “God said it. That settles it. I do well to believe it.”
Belief and faith are important aspects of being a follower of Christ. One man who held strong faith in God was Abraham. He believed and had faith in God, when God promised him what seemed impossible in Genesis 15: God would give Abraham a long lineage–as many descendants as there are stars in the sky! To a man who was old, and still had no children, this must have sounded like an impossible feat. Yet, even when God asked Abraham to move to a strange land and live a life of faith, Abraham remained consistently obedient to God's direction, and he showed over and over that trusting in Him is always best. God is more pleased with our faith in Him, rather than with our good works. He always keeps His promises, even when fulfillment seems unlikely or impossible. Like the verse from Genesis 18:14, when we experience a stutter in our faith, we must ask ourselves: is anything too hard for the Lord? The story of Abraham shows us how, as long as we put our faith in Him, God will keep His promises.
