Jesus' Baptism

Jesus began His public ministry by being baptized by John the Baptist. This important event represented Jesus' identification with all people, because we have all sinned and are in need of new birth through spiritual death and resurrection. The activities below will help kids understand that Jesus was the Savior who became sin for us, but it will also help children see that all people are in need of a Savior. Jesus is that Savior!

In Matthew 3, kids learn that Jesus obeyed God by being baptized. Jesus’ baptism showed that Jesus would take the punishment for our sins. When we’re baptized we’re showing that we have died to sin and now live for Jesus.
