Lesson Description

What does forgiveness mean? What does it involve? We gain a great deal of insight from a parable Jesus told about a son who asked his father for his inheritance and, once he received it, left home and squandered his fortune. When he’d run out of money and a famine hit, he was forced to feed pigs to keep from going hungry. But he was hungry! Then it hit him: “Hey! My father’s servants are better off than I am right now! I’ll go home and plead with Dad to take me on as a servant.” As the young man made his way closer to home, his father saw him and ran out to meet him. This is the point in Jesus’ story where we learn about forgiveness. Very few concepts in life are as important as this one! Are we ready to let it sink in? Are we ready to help our preschoolers understand it? This Jesus Taught About Forgiveness Bible lesson for older preschoolers is about the prodigal son and reminds children that Jesus teaches me to forgive.
