Lesson Description

Jonah has been called the reluctant prophet. God called him to warm Ninevah and he didn’t want to go. He was just fine with God’s judgment falling on the pagan city of Ninevah. But God’s plans always go beyond our own agendas. We must submit to His calling and His plan even when we don’t understand it. Jonah tried to run from Yahweh, but there is no escaping the presence of God. He doesn’t always use circumstances as dramatic as a big fish, but God has a way of putting us where He wants us, even when we don’t want to cooperate! This Jonah and the Fish Bible lesson for older preschoolers looks at Jonah’s story and teaches that God wants me to listen to Him and follow His commandments.
