Lesson Description

“Moses My servant is dead,” God told Joshua in Joshua 1:2. Among other things, He added, “Now you and all the people prepare to cross over the Jordan to the land I am giving the Israelites.…No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. I will be with you, just as I was with Moses. I will not leave you or forsake you. Be strong and courageous, for you will distribute the land I swore to their fathers to give them as an inheritance” (vv. 2,5-6). With Israel on the precipice of conquering the new land, Joshua became Israel’s new leader. He would effectively lead the people in taking the land God had promised. This Joshua – The New Leader Bible lesson for older preschoolers affirms that I can trust God to help me be strong and courageous.
