Lesson Description
On one occasion Jesus was a guest in Martha’s home. Martha had a sister named Mary who also was present that day. A conscientious hostess, Martha was extremely busy making sure everyone was comfortable in her home. Mary, however, sat in Jesus’ presence and listened to Him talk. Martha didn’t feel it was fair for Mary sit and listen to Jesus when so much work had to be done, and she asked Jesus to tell Mary to help her. Jesus’ response to Martha is instructive for all of us, including some of the youngest among us, our preschoolers. This Mary and Martha Bible lesson for older preschoolers is about Jesus’ response to Martha and reveals that Jesus wants me to love my friends.
