Lesson Description
Soon after the church came into existence on the day of Pentecost, Peter and John were making their way to the temple to pray. As they entered the temple area, they saw a man who could not stand or walk. The man spoke to them: “Please give me some money for food.”
Peter told the man they didn’t have any money, but they did have something that could help. “In Jesus’ name,” said Peter, “get up and walk.” Peter helped the man get up, but he didn’t need to help him after that. The man’s ankles and legs became strong and he began to move about joyfully, praising God the whole time. The people who saw the man walking knew he’d been unable to walk before. They were amazed at what God had done. This lesson will help preschoolers understand that God used the people of the church to help other people. God wants His people to help others today as well, even when He doesn’t choose to heal people in the same way he healed the lame man through Peter. This Peter and the Lame Man Bible lesson for older preschoolers is about an important healing in the early church and teaches that I can obey Jesus’ command and help others.
