Lesson Description
God wants us to love Him enthusiastically and wholeheartedly, and He wants us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. But who is our neighbor? A legal expert asked this question of Jesus when the two were discussing how a person can please God. The legal expert was trying to “justify himself” (Luke 10:29). Jesus gave a response that not only challenged him; it echoes down through the centuries to challenge us as well. The parable of the good Samaritan demonstrates not just who our neighbors are, but more importantly, it shows us how to be a neighbor to them. These are lessons that even preschoolers can begin to understand, and they’re great reminders for adults as well. The Story of the Kind Man Bible lesson for older preschoolers is about the parable of the good Samaritan and teaches that God wants me to help those in need.
