How To Know Jesus

There are many ways to tell someone how to know Jesus or how to enter into a relationship with Jesus. On the one hand, it can baffle even the most studied of theologians. On the other hand, it’s simple enough that even a child can understand it.

In the end, it comes down to being in a relationship with Jesus. There is no ritual to perform or magical incantation to recite. Jesus is a real person who sees you, hears you, knows you, and loves you. And, you can know Jesus! Here’s a simple plan for starting a relationship with Jesus…

If You Want to Know Jesus…

– Admit that you are a sinner and in need of a Savior. The Bible is clear that “all have sinned” (Rom. 3:23). This is as simple as saying, “Lord, I know I have sinned.”

– Believe in Jesus. Acts 16:31 says, “Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved…” That is, trust Him to save you simply because He loves you. Biblical faith simply means, “I believe my life, now and forever, depends on Jesus alone.”

– Confess that you are now God’s child. Once you place your faith in Jesus, He immediately comes into your life and begins to transform you. When we confess to ourselves and to others that we are God’s child, we are simply declaring that we belong to Him.

The above “steps” can be easily remembered as the “ABCs of Salvation.” The main thing to remember for someone seeking to know Jesus is that being a Christian means being in a relationship with Jesus. The simple steps above are just the beginning of a life of getting to know Jesus better and better.
