There are many ways to show our love for Jesus. Mary (sister to Lazarus and Martha) once anointed Jesus’ feet with expensive perfume and wiped his feet with her hair. This was an expression of great devotion. This handprint craft will help remind children that prayer is one way we show our love for Jesus, just like Mary showed her love for Jesus.

Bible Story: Mary Showed Her Love For Jesus
Bible Text: John 12:1-7
- Construction paper
Step 1. Lay three pieces of construction paper on top of each other and fold in half. Instruct children to place their right hand on the front paper, fingers and thumb close together with their thumb resting on the fold. Carefully trace around the child’s hand.
Step 2. Instruct children to cut around the tracing of their hand, but not on the fold, and to add two staples along the thumb on the outside.
Step 3. Once opened, this should create a praying hands shaped book.
Step 4. Have the children write “My Prayer Journal” on the front and to draw pictures of (or write down) inside prayers they would like to see answered.
