Bible Story: Valentines’ Day – Love Is

Bible Text: 1 Corinthians 13:3-8

Suggested Learning Outcome: This beautiful heart banner will help children remember how God describes love in 1 Corinthians 13.

Supplies List:

• Pink and red construction paper
• Hole punch
• Ribbon
• Crayons/markers

Teacher Preparation: Pre-cut heart shapes for children, several per student.

Instructions:

Step 1. After reading the descriptions of love found in 1 Corinthians 13, guide the children in choosing several of these descriptions to write on their hearts (see image).

 

 

 

 

Step 2. Assist the children in punching holes on either side of the hearts (see image).

 

 

 

 

 

Step 3. Give each child a length of ribbon and help them string the ribbon through the holes in the hearts to create a banner (see image).
