Lesson Description
Creation, including the earth, everything in it, and everything apart from it, came into existence because God took action. God made the earth. He spoke light into existence and separated the light from the darkness, thereby creating day and night. He separated the waters above from the waters below, and He gathered the waters below into one place, causing land to appear. He also made the sun, moon, and stars.
This God Made the World Bible lesson for older preschoolers teaches the truth that God made everything! Other lessons in this unit will affirm the Genesis account regarding other created things, but this lesson in particular helps children know not only that God “started it all,” but also that the sun, moon, stars, and the earth itself testify to God’s creativity, power, and glory. No wonder David, inspired by the Holy Spirit, would later write, “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky proclaims the work of His hands” (Ps. 19:1).
