Shepherds Told About Jesus Coded Words
It was just another night in the fields for the shepherds we read about in Luke chapter 2, until the angels appeared and told them the Messiah had come as a baby and was nearby in Bethlehem. Like many Jews at that time, the shepherds were waiting for the Messiah and hoping He would come at any time. It’s not difficult to imagine how excited they were as they rushed to find the baby, and then went to tell others about Jesus. We should be excited about Jesus! But the story of the shepherds and Jesus’ birth is also about the Kingdom of God and the fact that He often involves people in His Kingdom who aren’t important to the world. This Shepherds Told About Jesus Coded Words activity will remind children that God doesn’t choose people based on their social status.
