Bible Lesson: Joshua had God’s assurance of victory, but that didn’t give him the freedom to be careless. Joshua still needed to understand his enemy in order to wage an effective military campaign. So, he sent spies into the land to see what they could learn. The spies almost got caught but were helped by a lady named Rahab. They escaped and reported to Joshua that the enemy was frightened and God had obviously given Israel the good land.
