Interpreting the 10 Commandments for Kids
When God freed the Hebrew people from bondage in Egypt, He brought them to Mt. Sinai where He constituted them as a special nation and His chosen people. There He entered into a covenant relationship with them. This covenant relationship was based on a set of laws revealed by God through Moses. These laws were to govern their relationship with God and one another. The Ten Commandments were among these laws. Because the 10 Commandments are broad life principles, they are not difficult to understand or teach to children. This article PDF is aimed at interpreting the 10 Commandments for kids. You can find the same article as a blog post and a good library of other activities and resources that are designed to help the parent or Bible teacher introduce the Ten Commandments to kids in a way that they can learn and understand.
