The Wise Men’s Story Bible Craft

Bible Story: The Wise Men’s Story

Bible Text: Matthew 2:1-12

Suggested Learning Outcome: This fun, multi-textured craft will bring the story of the wise men to life for small children.

Supplies List:

• Black, brown, purple, yellow, and red construction paper
• Brown felt
• Craft pompoms or craft jewels
• Cotton balls
• Glue

Teacher Preparation: Pre-cut the following set of shapes for each student: 2 purple construction paper triangles, 2 purple construction paper rectangles, 1 red construction paper triangle, 1 red construction paper rectangle, 3 brown felt circles, 3 yellow construction paper crowns, 1 curvy brown construction paper shape for ground (see image).

 

 

 

 

Instructions:

Step 1. Give each student a sheet of black construction paper and a set of shapes. Instruct students to glue the wavy ground to the black construction paper. Add the three triangles to create the Wise Men’s robes. Add the three rectangles as the Wise Men’s arms, the felt circles for their heads, and the crowns on top. Instruct students to pull apart a small bit of cotton to glue onto each Wise Man for his beard, and add a craft pompom or a craft jewel at the end of their arms to represent the gifts they brought to baby Jesus (see image).
